Data Access
The Integrated Surface Database can be accessed in several ways.
- FTP Access (free for .gov, .edu and .mil domains)
This FTP directory contains raw ISD hourly observations for the 1901 to present time period. Data are organized by year, then by station in compressed ASCII format. - NCDC Climate Data Online (CDO)
NCDC's web-based data access system, which provides access to Integrated Surface Data. - NCDC GIS Portal
Provides access to the Integrated Surface Data via GIS map services.
Certain access systems are fee-based in order to recover the cost of data dissemination. Information regarding online data access policy can be obtained from the Free Access Information web page.
