| Network Team |
| The Network Team is responsible for designing, integrating, and
maintaining file and print servers, data communications and cabling
services for the National Weather Headquarters offices in SSMC2,
Silver Spring, Maryland. Our team provides technical planning, project
management and systems integration services. We work with the Hotline
team in troubleshooting complex server and network problems.

- Michael
J. Jackson is the NWS Headquarters Enterprise Network Manager.
Mike has 14 years of experience in network management, design
and operations in both government and private industry. Prior
to coming to the National Weather Service he served as the
Network and Systems Branch Chief for the Architect of The Capitol.
Mike holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from
George Mason University and holds an Associate of electrical
engineering from Penn State University.

- Tarandeep
Bawa is the Network Program Manager for NWS Headquarters.
Prior to coming to the National Weather Service, he worked
as a consultant with Motorola and also as a System Administrator
for SAIC at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Tarandeep holds
a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems from the University
of Maryland, a Masters Degree from Johns Hopkins University
in Telecommunications and Information Systems, PMP Certification,
ITIL Certification, and Six Sigma Black belt, and a MCSE and
a CCNA certification.

- Terence
(Terry) S. Nesfield is the Lead System Administrator for
NWS Headquarters. Terry previously worked for SAIC at Walter
Reed Army Medical Center as a senior system administrator supporting
a Windows NT enterprise network for WRAMC North Atlantic Region.
Terry retired from the US Army in 1997 after 20 years of working
as a Programmer/ System Analyst/ System Administrator with
many hardware and software systems. Terry has 24 years of Information
Management/ Technology experience.

- Ishmail
Hashim is the Senior Network Engineer for NWS Headquarters.
Prior to coming to the National Weather Service, he worked
as a Senior Network Engineer for A&T Systems. Ishmail holds
a Master's degree in Computer Information Systems, CCNA, MCSE
and CNA certifications and is also a candidate for the CCNP
certification.

Whelan is the Senior Network Administrator for NWS Headquarters.
Prior to taking this position, Mike worked on the NWS Hotline
for six years and has over 11 years of IT experience. Before
coming to the National Weather Service, Mike worked as the
Network Administrator for a medium sized, privately owned accounting
firm. Mike attended University College at the University of
Maryland, has his MCSE (NT), MCP (XP & Server 2003) and Security
Plus certifications and is currently working on his MCSA certification.
