The Impact of Foot-and-Mouth Disease on Meat Trade: Update
As initially reported in April, the April foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks in both Korea and Japan are unlikely to have a significant impact on meat trade. However, as Korea will not be able to export pork for at least 1 year, U.S. suppliers may benefit from the ensuing gap in Japanese pork imports.
