Gov. Perry Surveys Storm Damage in Brazoria, Polk Counties
September 18, 2008AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today surveyed storm damage surrounding the Angleton and Livingston areas and visited with local officials, assuring them of the state’s continued support through the entire restoration process.

Rick Perry today encouraged displaced Texans to remain patient as the state continues to make progress restoring its communities and readying its neighborhoods for residents’ safe return home. AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today announced that search and rescue (SAR) operations have begun in earnest after Hurricane Ike made landfall overnight on the Texas Coast. The Category 2 hurricane has caused extensive flooding and knocked out utilities in several Texas counties. The governor also urged Texans all along the storm’s path to remain vigilant.
