STATEMENT OF CONGRESSMAN JOHN D. DINGELL
RANKING MEMBER
COMMITTEE ON ENERGY AND COMMERCE

Contracting Abuses in Iraq
October 15, 2003

“It’s bad enough that Americans are paying high prices for gasoline at home, but now it appears that they are also subsidizing the cost of gasoline for Iraqi citizens and apparent windfall profits for Halliburton on the sales,” said Dingell. “It’s time to put an end to the special favors for the well-connected friends of this administration.”
