Welcome!

Allies Against Asthma (Allies) is a national initiative to improve asthma control for children and adolescents. Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation with direction and technical assistance provided by the Center for Managing Chronic Disease, University of Michigan, Allies supports seven community-based coalitions and their efforts to improve the way asthma is managed in their communities and provides resources and tools to support other asthma coalitions and programs throughout the United States.

The Allies team oversees additional projects of the Center:

The Asthma Health Outcomes Project (AHOP) studied factors associated with successful asthma programs for children, adolescents and adults.  The project was created and funded under a cooperative agreement with the Indoor Environments Division of the US Environmental Protection Agency.

The Physician Asthma Care Education Program (PACE) is a multi-faceted seminar to improve physician awareness, attitudes, ability and application of communication and therapeutic skills for asthma. With support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Center has developed, tested, and disseminated the seminar for widespread replication.CMCD logo
