NIOSH Occupational Exposure Sampling Strategies Manual Update Meeting |
|
November 8 and 9, 2007 www.team-psa.com/niosh-OESSM07/home.asp NIOSH is soliciting input from its Stakeholders on their needs for information and guidance to be included in a revision of the “Occupational Exposure Sampling Strategies Manual” (OESSM)," which is sometimes referred to as "Leidel, Busch and Lynch" or "The NIOSH Yellow Book". This meeting is an excellent opportunity for you to provide input on the update and help shape the future of occupational exposure assessment. The OESSM has been a seminal document on exposure assessment and has served as the basis for NIOSH recommendations and guidance to OSHA and the professional community for many years. However, the underlying science supporting occupational exposure assessment as well as the needs for, and uses of, occupational exposure assessment have advanced and evolved since the Manual was published. In response to these advancements, NIOSH has decided to update the guidance and recommendations to reflect these changes and help move occupational exposure assessment into the future. The input of stakeholders such as practicing industrial hygienists, educators and researchers, students, safety practitioners, and regulators is critical to assuring that the guidance and recommendations developed meet the needs of today’s and future practitioners. There is no cost to attend the meeting, but pre-registration is required to ensure that we can adequately accommodate all those interested. A reduced cost for Hotel accommodations has been arranged at the Washington Court Hotel for the evenings of November 7 and 8. Complete meeting information is available at www.team-psa.com/niosh-OESSM07/home.asp.
