NRC SELECTS NEW SENIOR RESIDENT INSPECTOR AT INDIAN POINT 3

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Peter D. Drysdale as the new Senior Resident Inspector at the Indian Point 3 nuclear power plant in Buchanan, N.Y. He succeeds David Lew, who was reassigned to the Regional Office.

Mr. Drysdale began his NRC career as a reactor engineer in the Operational Programs Section of the Region I Division of Reactor Safety (DRS). He was promoted to a senior reactor engineer in the Performance Programs Section of DRS, and later worked in the Systems Section in DRS. Most recently, he was the Senior Resident Inspector at the Ginna nuclear power plant in Ontario, N.Y.

Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Drysdale worked as a refueling engineer at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, Calif.; as a project engineer and refueling engineer at the naval prototype sites operated by the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Windsor, Conn., and West Milton, N.Y.; and as a test engineer at the Mare Island and Bremerton (Washington) Naval Shipyards. He served in the Strategic Air Command of the United States Air Force and was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

Mr. Drysdale earned a bachelor of science degree in nuclear engineering from the University of California.

He joins resident inspector Laura Dudes at Indian Point 3. They can be reached at 914/739-8565.
