Winter Storm Brings More Snow

to Western and North Central Nebraska

        THE STORM SYSTEM MOVING THROUGH THE PLAINS TODAY WILL LEAVE IN ITS WAKE NEW SNOWFALL. THE SNOWFALL THAT BEGAN DURING SATURDAY AFTERNOON HAS PRODUCED NEW SNOWFALL AMOUNTS RANGING FROM A TRACE OVER NORTHERN SHERIDAN COUNTY...TO 9 INCHES AT OCONTO IN SOUTHERN CUSTER COUNTY. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO FALL THROUGH TODAY PRODUCING AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW BEFORE ENDING TONIGHT.

        THE NEW SNOWFALL PUSHES SNOW DEPTHS ACROSS MUCH OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA TO ABOVE NORMAL RANGES. AS OF 9 AM CST...SNOW DEPTHS RANGED FROM AN INCH OR LESS NORTH OF HIGHWAY 20 FROM HAY SPRINGS TO VALENTINE...TO A WHOPPING 17 INCHES 8 MILES SOUTHWEST OF OSHKOSH IN SOUTHERN GARDEN COUNTY. THE SNOW DEPTH REPRESENTS A COMBINATION OF RESIDUAL AND NEW SNOWFALL. GRAPHICAL IMAGES OF THE 24 HOUR SNOWFALL AND CURRENT SNOW DEPTHS ARE PROVIDED.
