CSWA Supervision
New Requirement
New Requirement
A change that took effect July 1, 2008 concerns supervision requirements for Clinical Social Work Associates (CSWA). A CSWA who has completed supervision, but has not taken the LCSW examination is required to remain under supervision for one time per month until the CSWA takes and passes the national (ASWB Clinical) and Oregon section of the examination. Further six month reports need to be received by the Board which documents this supervision.

Example: A CSWA completes the Board-approved supervision plan on 10/12/08. The CSWA does not plan to take the LCSW until 4/28/09. The CSWA will continue meeting with the supervisor at least once a month until the CSWA passes the examination. The CSWA will also need to submit a six month supervision report at the end of each six month period.
