Credentialing Bodies

State Board of Licensed Clinical Social Workers

While the following list of Board-accepted Credentialing Bodies is provided for your guidance, it is important to remember that the content of all workshops, conferences, social work courses, etc. must be clinical in nature to meet the rule requirement.

The Boards Continuing Education Committee may review up to 10 hours of credit per reporting period for continuing education activities not approved by a mental health professional body. Please review OAR 877-025-0006. You must submit information to the Board that includes the course content, background information of the presenter(s), and a copy of the completion certificate including the title, dates attended, and hours awarded. This information must be received 45 days prior to the renewal in which you owe continuing education.

University hours, whether graduate level classes or university continuing education courses, must have content that is directly related to established mental health care and clinical in nature and generally from psychology, social work, counseling and education departments.

State Boards that approve continuing education must have a formal process for accreditation of continuing education. The following are those known to us at this time: California, Texas, Florida, however other State Boards with like processes will be accepted for clinical programs.
