LABORATORY EARTH I: Concepts and Applications

LABORATORY EARTH I: Concepts and Applications is offered as an eight or sixteen week, three-credit graduate level, Internet-based, computer-delivered, distance learning course designed for K - 8 educators. This four-module course will improve Earth science content knowledge using practical classroom approaches. Participants will complete: Mod 1. Prelude to Laboratory Earth, an introduction to the details of the course, how-to tutorials, and accessing and manipulating data; Mod 2. Principles and Concepts, includes applications of density, convection, gravity to understanding the Earth's four spheres; Mod 3. Earth in Space will focus on Earth and other members of the solar system; Mod 4. Weather and Climate, includes understanding weather patterns, the greenhouse effect and data interpretation. Tuition scholarships are available. LABORATORY EARTH II: Earth's Natural Resource System will be available in Spring 2007.
