Question: Why can't I find the article I'm looking for in MedlinePlus?

Answer:

  • MedlinePlus is not a database of references to journal articles.

  • To locate information about journal articles:

    • Search the MEDLINE/PubMed database for references to journal articles.

      • Follow the link to MEDLINE/PubMed from the Other Resources page; you will find a link back to the Other Resources page just below the header of every MedlinePlus page.

    • Use the preformulated MEDLINE/PubMed searches found under the Journal Articles subcategory on the MedlinePlus Health Topic pages.

      • These preformulated searches are not comprehensive, but are meant to find clinical articles which focus on that particular condition.
