The Smoke-free Homes Community Action Kit CD-ROM The Smoke-free Homes Community Action Kit CD-ROM assists community leaders in educating communities about the dangers of secondhand smoke. The kit contains ideas for outreach activities, samples of local programs, and customizable resources such as presentations, letters and a proclamation. This information was designed to assist in developing strategies and locating resources necessary to implement a community-based campaign to reduce children's exposure to secondhand smoke.

Setting the Record Straight: Secondhand Smoke is a Preventable Health Risk
This fact sheet provides detailed responses to the specific criticisms of EPA's assessment of lung cancer data included in the 1993 report, Respiratory Health Effects of Passive Smoking: Lung Cancer and Other Disorders U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Research and Development, Office of Health and Environmental Assessment, Washington, DC, EPA/600/6-90/006F, December, 1992. The landmark 1993 report designated secondhand smoke as a carcinogen, found that secondhand smoke causes lung cancer in nonsmoking adults and increases the risk of bronchitis, pneumonia, and asthma in children.
