Dental care plans grew in prominence from 1980 to 1986; plan cost control measures, as well as plan benefits, kept pace with the rising cost of dental care. This article examines several key features of dental plan design, including benefits provided, methods of reimbursement, funding arrangements, and employee contributions to plan premiums.
