Manufacturers of satellite receiving systems may have an interest in the recently posted EMWIN Request for Information (RFI). The RFI describes opportunities for marketing equipment capable of meeting the specifications for receiving the current EMWIN broadcast and for making the transition to the EMWIN broadcast when the next generation of GOES satellites (GOES-N) becomes operational. In addition to the RFI, the NWS will hold an RFI workshop for prospective manufacturers at NWS Headquarters on December 11, 2006.  If there is sufficient interest a second workshop will be scheduled for January, 2007.  For more information please email us.
