Changes in unemployment insurance legislation during 1989

Alaska and Nevada established temporary training programs for unemployed claimants; elsewhere, changes generally involved increasing benefits, qualifying wages, and tax rates. Following is a summary of some significant changes in State unemployment insurance laws during 1989.
