Survey of State Immunization Information System Legislation

For this document to print properly, change your printer's page orientation to landscape.

The following table summarizes results from a survey of state immunization information system-related legislation conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Immunization Program. From August 1997 to February 1998, Immunization Program Managers and/or other state health department personnel in the 50 states and the District of Columbia (D.C.) were interviewed by telephone. The summary data reported in this chart are updated as NIP becomes aware of new laws or regulations, or modifications to existing laws or regulations. Copies of state laws, administrative rules and regulations, and IIS policies and procedures were also collected to serve as a resource for states considering legislation and/or developing policies and procedures.
