Rapid Ride Naming Rights Program

Sponsor a Rapid Ride Station

Call 724-3115 or email for more information on the Rapid Ride Naming Rights Program

ABQ RIDE is building modern protected stations to shelter Rapid Ride passengers. These concrete, metal and neon-accented structures will be fully lighted and will offer protection from the elements. An LED display will let riders know when the next bus is due to arrive. There are 28 stops along the 11-mile Rapid Ride route. Of these, 23 will have stations that are available for businesses and organizations to name.

Currently, ABQ RIDE provides more than 22,000 trips daily, with more than a third of our ridership on Central Avenue. Ridership is expected to increase dramatically with the improvements and advantages offered by Rapid Ride and that means there are tremendous advertising opportunities along this route.

Each station will feature a 12-foot sign with the name chosen by the station sponsor. In addition, the station name will be announced each time a bus pulls into that location. The name will also appear on the more than 100,000 schedules ABQ RIDE prints each year as well as on our web site and promotional materials.

Proceeds from the naming rights program will be used to provide improved security on buses and at stations and pay for station maintenance. It is our hope that the naming rights program will provide each station with an identity that will make the Rapid Ride system easier to navigate for both residents and tourists.

If you would like more information on the Rapid Ride Naming Rights Program, please call 724-3115 or email.

The rate schedule is based on current level of ridership in the corridor. Every effort will be made to give property and business owners adjacent to each station the first opportunity to purchase naming rights.

Our program participants, after choosing the location they wish to sponsor, will name the station. That name will be displayed prominently on the station itself, announced on-board all incoming trips, printed in all schedules and referenced in promotional materials concerning that station. For example, there may be a UNM Rapid Station near Yale Boulevard or a Presbyterian Hospital Station east of First Street.

We fully anticipate that these stations will remain in place along the historic Route 66 when either Light Rail or Bus Rapid – systems with dedicated travel lanes – comes to Albuquerque.
