Trends in employer-provided health care benefits

Rising health care costs, among other factors, have lead to the growth of nontraditional health care plans and to innovative changes in plan provisions. This article presents data on participation in alternative health care plans and other findings from the BLS Employee Benefits Survey from 1979 to 1989.
