Free Ads

Free television, radio, print and billboard ads* from the MCRC may be used in schools and colleges in various ways:

Order the MCRC free ads on videotape or CD by contacting the MCRC at mcrc@cdc.gov or 770-488-5705, option 2.

* Note: The free print ads and billboards are available only as electronic files on CD. Schools are responsible for printing.

† Note: Originally founded as Students Against Drunk Driving, this organization now focuses on promoting positive decisions that young people face in their daily lives. SADD often coordinates activities for the Great American Smokeout. Chapters are organized by state and individual school.

First-Hand Testimonials for Schools

Several of the people featured in testimonial ads in the MCRC are eager to visit schools and talk with students. This can be very effective at reaching young audiences when combined with a statewide media campaign featuring these individuals. In addition, a number of sports figures and other celebrities are sometimes available to present at school assemblies. Contact the MCRC at mcrc@cdc.gov or 770-488-5705 option 2 for more information.

Videos, Posters, and Other Materials

CDC's Office on Smoking and Health (OSH) offers a number of videos, posters of celebrities and athletes, and other materials that can be used in classrooms and youth groups. In addition, these materials can be used for display/exhibit at local and state conventions or meetings for teachers, counselors, and others who work with youth.

The Smoking & Tobacco Use Publications Catalog also includes a variety of other useful resources, such as tips for quitting smoking, Surgeon General’s Reports, other technical information, and Spanish-language materials.
