The Albuquerque Clean Team (ACT) is a community-wide effort to improve our city—one area at a time. Under the direction and support of the City of Albuquerque's Solid Waste Management Department, ACT brings together community groups and individual homeowners who want to take responsibility for creating and maintaining a clean community, and in the process create a better living, working, and playing environment. What do ACT Members Do?

When you join ACT as an individual homeowner or part of a group (neighborhood, civic club, church, synagogue, school, scout troop, employee group, etc.), you volunteer to clean up a designated area as needed (at least four times per year).

Each Clean Team receives free garbage bags, gloves, and other available supplies. Upon request, the City of Albuquerque will also supply a truck to haul the trash your team collects, and will provide free passes to its convenience centers for disposal on the date(s) of your clean-up. You will also get a free ACT kit with materials to let everyone know about your clean-ups, ideas to help recruit team members, and tips on how to safely and effectively clean up the area for which you have taken responsibility.

As a member of ACT, you will also receive a free quarterly newsletter so you can share ideas and success stories with other teams. What's more, teams will be eligible to compete for prizes and awards.

How Can I Join ACT?

1. Decide on the area you or your team wants to adopt.

2. Select a Clean Team Captain. This person will be the main contact between your team and the City of Albuquerque.

3. Have your Clean Team Captain register your team with the ACT program. Your team Captain can choose to register your team via the Internet by using the on-line registration form, or call or stop by the ACT headquarters at the address below to request a registration form.

4. Once your registration form has been received at our offices, your team captain will be mailed an ACT kit. This kit will provide you with everything you need to get started.
