Toxics Release Inventory Program

The Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) is a publicly available EPA database that contains information on toxic chemical releases and waste management activities reported annually by certain industries as well as federal facilities. news EPA announces the availability of the 5th annual Electronic Facility Data Release (e-FDR).
The 2008 e-FDR provides a form by form view of the TRI forms that has been received by EPA from facilities- as reported by July 1, 2008. These TRI forms contain chemical data that has been collected during 2007 by the facilities as required by EPCRA section 313.

news ECOS to Continue to Support the Development of the TRI National Conference and TRI Outreach Efforts
EPA has awarded a cooperative agreement to the Environmental Council of States (ECOS) for an expected total amount of $200,000 per year for five years. In cooperation with the Environmental Council of States (ECOS), the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) program will focus on expanding outreach efforts to provide a wide range of stakeholders an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of TRI and other related data and information. The new cooperative agreement will provide support for the annual TRI National Training Conference, a new clearinghouse on TRI data, and other related activities. EPA and ECOS will provide more information on these outreach efforts in the coming months.

By law, if your facility is in a covered industry, you must file your Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) reports by July 1 of each year. This Web page contains access to the resources necessary for facilities to report.
