Systems Operations Division (SOD) manages the operation, installation, and maintenance of all operational observing and weather information systems and facilities in the Southern Region. These systems include WSR-88D ('88 Doppler Radar), ASOS (Automated Surface Observing System), NWR (NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards), and AWIPS (Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System), as well as local and wide area administration networks and weather forecast offices.
