Adult Treatment Panel III (ATP III) Cholesterol Management Implementation Tool for Palm Operating System (OS)

This interactive guideline tool is a Palm Operating System (OS) program that permits clinicians to implement the Adult Treatment Panel III (ATP III) cholesterol guidelines, based on the Third Report of the National Cholesterol Education Program's Expert Panel on Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Cholesterol in Adults.

The program contains other useful information from the ATP III, including:

  • ATP III classification of lipid levels
  • ATP III coronary heart disease risk assessment
  • Therapeutic lifestyle changes
  • Drug therapy for lipid lowering
  • Information on the metabolic syndrome
  • Issues for special populations

The Web site provides instructions for installing the guideline tool on a Palm OS device, as well as a link to the ATP III Executive Summary.
