Strong Winds On December 13, 2006

On Wednesday December 13, strong winds plagued much of southeast Wyoming.  The winds were caused by the pressure difference between surface low pressure across southern Canada and high pressure across the Great Basin states. 

Here are some of the strongest wind gusts reported so far...

Cheyenne.....56 mph at 1041 am
Laramie........55 mph at 137 pm
Rawlins.........53 mph at 1231 pm
Douglas.........48 mph at 244 pm
Bordeaux......70 mph at 1105 am
Arlington.......70 mph at 140 pm
