December 8th and 9th, 2007 - How Cold Was It Compared to Previous Years?

December 8th and 9th were cold across southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska.  How cold were these days in comparison to December 8th and 9th in past years?

As you can see in the table above, December 8th and 9th, 2007 were the 12th coldest such period in Cheyenne since 1872 with an average temperature of 13.8 degrees.  High temperatures in Cheyenne were only 20 and 27 degrees on the 8th and 9th with lows of 8 and 0.

Chadron highs on December 8th and 9th were 20 and 20 respectively.  Low temperatures were 15 and -3 respectively.  As you can see in the table above, December 8th and 9th, 2007 was the 10th coldest such period since 1895 with an average temperature of 13.0 degrees.

As you can see in the table above, December 8-9, 2007 was the 13th coldest such period in Scottsbluff since 1893 with an average temperature of 13.5 degrees.  The high temperature on the 8th was 27 degrees and was only 15 degrees on the 9th.  Low temperatures were 14 and -2 on the 8th and 9th respectively.

Sidney, Nebraska had high temperatures of only 23 and 15 degrees on the 8th and 9th, respectively.  Low temperatures on the 8th and 9th were 10 and -10, respectively.  As you can see in the table above, the average temperature for Sidney on the 8th and 9th of this year was 9.5 degrees, making this the third coldest such period since 1948.

As you can see in the table above, Laramie had the 14th coldest December 8-9 period this year with an average temperature of 14.0 degrees.  High temperatures in Laramie on the 8th and 9th were 20 and 27 degrees respectively while low temperatures were 10 and -1 degrees respectively.
