A Warm Fall Day

It was another unseasonably warm day over southeast Wyoming and the western Nebraska panhandle on Thursday.  Over the lower elevations, the high temperatures climbed to between 65 (at Rawlins) to 81 (at Chadron).  These values are a good 10 to 20 degrees above normal for this time of year.    A record high for the date (October 25th) was recorded at Cheyenne where the high was 76.  The previous record high for the date in Cheyenne was 74 set back in 1977.  The record high for October 25th was also tied at the Laramie airport.  The high temperature climbed to 69 at the Laramie airport, which was previously reached in 1968.   Temperatures on Friday will be much cooler, with highs in the lower elevations ranging from the upper 40s to mid 50s.
