2006 Was the 3rd Warmest Summer on Record at Scottsbluff and Cheyenne

It was an unusually hot summer across Southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle. Ranked by average temperature, the summer months of June, July, and August ranked as the 3rd hottest on record at both Cheyenne, Wyoming and Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Every month was above normal on its own, but a relatively cool August prevented the summer from gaining record-breaking status.
