August 24 - Significant Day in Cheyenne Weather History

August 24 was a significant day in the weather history of Cheyenne.  On August 24, 1910, an unusually early season and strong cold front swept across the area during the day.  The result was the earliest freeze ever recorded in Cheyenne as the low temperature for the day fell to 30 degrees.

Temperatures continued to fall into the early morning hours of the 25th...bottoming out at 25 degrees which still stands as the lowest August temperature ever recorded in Cheyenne.
