Aug 18: A severe thunderstorm produced hail up to 1 inch in diameter over the east part of
Cheyenne on this day in 1993, while Rawlins, Wyoming was deluged with 1.27
Aug 19: Thunderstorms brought a generous 1.82 inches of rain to Chadron on this day in
1979.
Aug 20: Early morning thunderstorms brought heavy rain to Scottsbluff, Nebraska on this
day in 1993. While just 0.40 inches was recorded at the airport, amounts near 2
inches in less than an hour were reported in town. Water up to 2 feet deep was
reported on some city streets.
Aug 21: Today is one of only 2 days in the May through August time period in which hail
has not been officially recorded in Cheyenne. July 8th is the other day.
Aug 22: Today is an atypically dry day for Scottsbluff. The record rainfall for today is just
0.38 inch, which fell in 1965. It is the lowest record high rainfall amount for any
day in August.

reported around Douglas, Wyoming.

late evening Cheyenne had cooled to 30 degrees, the earliest freeze on record
for Cheyenne.
