The table above shows the projected high temperatures for Cheyenne, Laramie, Rawlins, Scottsbluff, Chadron, Sidney, Douglas and Torrington from Friday August 15th through Thursday August 21st.
Click on the city links in the table to see your National Weather Service point forecast and nearby weather conditions for that specific location.
As you can see, temperatures will be considerably cooler, and downright autumnal, Friday and Saturday as a rather potent cool airmass sweeps south across southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska. Rainfall chances will increase markedly through Saturday as an unusually strong trough aloft, or weather disturbance, slides south across Wyoming. If you have been wishing for rain, you will quite likely get significant amounts of rain on Friday and Saturday. The coolest day will be Friday, with temperatures displaying a warming trend Saturday through Wednesday. As you can see in the table above, high temperatures on Friday will range from the mid 50s to near 70, with lower 60s to lower 70s on Saturday.
Both cool and mild weather enthusiasts will be in store for a roller coaster ride in temperatures through early next week. This type of weather pattern is a mere preview of the autumnal cold fronts you can expect in September and October as we begin our approach to the autumnal equinox on September 22nd at 939 am MDT.
