Aug 11: On this day in 1989 rainfall up to 4.5 inches produced flooding in Scottsbluff.
The heavy rains collapsed the roof of a business and flooded some streets with
up to 3 feet of water.
Aug 12: A surge of unseasonably cool air brought record lows to many areas of the region
on this day in 2004. Shirley Basin, Wyoming was chilled to 30 degrees while
other areas reached the lower 40s.
Aug 13: Very heavy rain fell around Kimball, Nebraska on this day in 1989, with 2.32
inches recorded just north of town.
Aug 14: On this day in 2000, Scottsbluff recorded it’s last of 23 consecutive days with
high temperatures of 90 degrees or greater, Scottsbluff’s second longest streak
on record for this event.
A severe thunderstorm produced hail from 1 to 3 inches in diameter in and
around Albin, Wyoming on this day in 1996 with about 60 thousand in damage.
Cheyenne recorded the last of 8 consecutive days with at least a tenth of an inch
of rain on this day in 1930, equaling the record set in 1927.
Aug 15: Thunderstorms produced an estimated 4 to 6 inches of rainfall west of Cheyenne
near Federal, WY on this day in 2000, which flooded parts of Happy Jack Road.
1.27 inches of rain fell in Chadron, Nebraska on this day in 1927.
Aug 16: A slow moving thunderstorm produced heavy rain over the southern portion of
Cheyenne on this day in 1997. Some intersections in south Cheyenne were
flooded with 2 to 3 feet of water.
Aug 17: On this day in 2003 Chadron, Nebraska recorded the last of 26 consecutive days
with a high temperature of at least 90 degrees, the longest 90 degree streak on
record for Chadron.
