CAMEO Training

June 9-11, 2008, Boston, MA, Advanced Hands-On CAMEO training at the Harvard School of Public Health.  See http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/ccpe/programs/ADVCAMEO.shtml for details.

September 17-18, 2008, San Antonio, TX, CAMEO training workshop sponsored by EPA Region 6 and the Bexar County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).   There is no cost for the workshop, but spaces are limited and early registration is recommended.

September 17-19, 2008, Plymouth, MA, 2008 Hazardous Materials Training Conference.  The Massachusetts Association of Hazardous Materials Technicians announced the dates for their 17th annual training conference. The conference will be held September 17 – 19, 2008 at the Radisson Hotel Plymouth Harbor, 180 Water Street, Plymouth, MA. Tel. 508-747-4900. This year MAHMT has entered into a partnership with the U.S. EPA, Region 1 – Boston to provide training in the areas of hazardous materials emergency planning and preparedness in addition to training for first responders over the three day event. The conference will include general sessions each morning, followed by breakout sessions covering a variety of topics. September 18-19, 2008, Providence, RI, Basic CAMEO. There will be an open enrollment Basic CAMEO program at the fire academy on Cranston St., Providence from 8:00-4:30 pm. Students will be taught to utilize the CAMEO program in a response and planning posture. The program will be completely hands-on. Laptop computers and all relative software will be provided. Contact Kathy Hague for more information at (401) 462-4211. Class size is limited to 18. Registration deadline is September 5th.

September 27-28, 2008, Hope Valley, RI, Basic ALOHA. LEPC #5 & the Hope Valley Wyoming Fire District will be sponsoring a basic ALOHA program at the HVFD fire station from 8:00-4:30 pm. The class will consist of utilizing the program in a response and planning posture with emphasis on incorporating existing ERPs from local commercial facilities. Other program features will include the review and use of metering and weather monitoring equipment. Class is full. 

Ongoing Training

On-Line CAMEO Training, University of California at Davis Extension

The University of California at Davis Extension provides on-going CAMEO training on-line, covering all areas of the CAMEO software suite.  This self-paced class can be taken from any computer with internet access.  For more information, please call UC Davis Extension at (800) 752-0881 , or click here.

Department of Homeland Security, Office for Domestic Preparedness offers free CAMEO courses, anywhere in the U.S. You can obtain the DHS/ODP course catalog at their web site: http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/odp/training_catalog.htm. The catalog is a PDF file that contains a description of numerous courses, and instructions on how to request the training.
