Labor market flexibility: a changing international perspective

Over the past 30 years, labor market flexibility has been viewed as a solution to rising unemployment but also an attack on social standards; policymakers have considered a variety of measures to increase labor market flexibility during this period. This article traces the evolution of labor market flexibility in the context of changing economic conditions.
