As a regulatory agency our work is grounded in science and includes careful assessment of available data and information. As new issues arise or develop, it may take time for the science to be ready to support regulatory decisions. Although it may not be obvious to the public, we engage in these new issues early to ensure that we can take advantage of new data and information appropriately.
