Office of Performance Budgeting and Strategic Planning


Mission

The mission of the Office of Performance Budgeting and Strategic Planning is to ensure that Treasury’s annual performance supports the Department’s strategic plan, and to advocate execution of the budget efficiently and effectively toward the achievement of optimal performance levels across all Treasury bureaus. The Office also oversees Competitive Sourcing, President's Management and PART programs and provides guidance to the Bureaus on policy issues.

We add value to Treasury’s budget operations by:

  • Providing leadership, management and direction on budget and performance issues;
  • Advising, guiding and assisting our customers on a variety of budgeting functions and processes;
  • Managing regulatory and other customer reporting requirements;
  • Providing assessments and evaluations of budgetary and financial resources;
  • Providing Treasury management with information that can be used to make informed decisions on budget requests to OMB and Congress; and
  • Serving as the Department’s focal point for budget matters with OMB and Congress
  • Provides guidance and direction on implementing the President Management Agenda for the Department
