King County enters into contracts for a variety of Consultant services, including Design (Architectural), Professional (Engineering, Legal, etc. ) and Technical (Surveys, Appraisals, Information Techology, etc). These services originate from all King County departments and agencies.

Listed below are Frequently Asked Questions regarding County Consultant processes and types of projects.

How can I find out what Consultant proposals are currently being solicited by King County Government?

Proposals currently being solicited are posted on our web site, go to Solicitations and search "Open" solicitations for A&E and Prof. Services.

How do I participate in the Architectural and Engineering Roster?

In accordance with RCW 39.80, King County utilizes the Architectural & Engineering (A&E) Roster process to select consultants for smaller design projects, valued at $150,000 or less. These consultant service contracts are not advertised in the newspaper.

Consultants on the A&E Roster must be licensed to engage in the lawful practice of your profession in the State of Washington. Contractors on the A&E Roster are listed by trade specialties. Trade specialties are based on the contractor's description of experience and availability on their application form. Refer to the Roster Disciplines (152KB DOC) for a listing of the specialties. To apply, access Roster Application (362KB DOC).

How do I learn about Proposal Results?

After Procurement awards any contract, all proposals become a public record.

To determine the status of RFP's & RFQ's after the due date, whether solicitations have been closed, cancelled or awarded; access Solicitations and search "All" solicitations for "A&E and Prof. Services".
