Dinosaur National Monument
Places To Go
Early 20th-century homesteader's cabin.
Uintah County Library, Vernal, UT.
Dinosaur is more than pretty scenery. The Monument preserves a range of human history, including Native American rock art, homesteaders' cabins and an early 20th-century ranch. Pictured at right is an early image of Josie Bassett Morris' cabin, which still stands in the park. Josie homesteaded in what is now the Monument beginning in 1914.

Did You Know?
Dinosaur National Monument's geology is a feast for the mind and the eye. The rock layers, which have been tilted by folding, expose a variety of colors and textures.
