Prostate Cancer
Frequently Asked Questions
14. If prostate cancer is found, how do
doctors describe how far the cancer has spread?
If
cancer is found in the prostate, the doctor needs to stage the
disease. Staging is a careful attempt to find out whether the
cancer has spread and, if so, what parts of the body are affected.
The doctor also needs to find out the grade of the cancer. The
grade tells how closely the tumor resembles normal tissue.
