Records Disposition Schedules Updated

The Oklahoma Archives and Record Commission amended general records dispositions schedules on April 16th. You can download and/or review either the schedule for state agencies, boards and commissions or the schedule for universities and colleges. Both are in the Adobe PDF format.

Grants Available to Protect Archival Collections

To help organizations address threats to historical documents, photographs, recordings, and other materials, the Oklahoma Historical Records Advisory Board, sponsored by the Department of Libraries, is now accepting applications for its “Threats to Your Collection” funding opportunity. Grants range from $500 to $10,000. Deadline to apply is April 1. Funding is made available through the National Historical Publications and Records Commission. Download a grant application in either Adobe PDF format or Rich Text Format (word processor compatible).

Latest and Greatest Public Library Data Now Online

ODL has just released fiscal year 2008 annual reporting data from Oklahoma's public libraries. Detailed information on the finances, services and collections of all the systems, branches and independent libraries is now available to the public. State Employees: Get an ODL Library Card Online!

If you are a state employee or elected official then you are eligible for an ODL library card. A library card will gain you access to all Oklahoma Department of Library collections, as well as interlibrary loan. You can check out a variety of materials including books, DVDs and VHS. You can apply at any Oklahoma Department of Libraries location or apply online here

Confederate Pension Records Index

ODL's Archives Division has revised and redesigned its index to the Confederate pension records held by ODL and the Oklahoma Historical Society. Download a copy of this index used by genealogists and researchers the world over (Adobe PDF, 164 pages, 5.2mb).
