WelcomeWelcome to the web site of the USAID Mission to Bangladesh. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is the principal U.S. Government agency providing development assistance around the world. USAID is committed to improving living conditions, promoting a free and democratic life and helping in times of disasters. In Bangladesh, USAID makes a difference by improving the lives of the people of Bangladesh, and in particular, the poor. The Mission to Bangladesh is one of USAID's larger ones in funding and staff size. We have had a full-fledge cooperation program in Bangladesh since its in 1971. We are committed to our work with the people and Government of Bangladesh. We have focused our efforts in seven core areas: population and health, small business and agribusiness, natural resource management, energy, food security and disaster management, education, and democracy and human rights. We developed this site to meet the needs of a wide variety of visitors interested in international development. You will find not only program information about USAID/Bangladesh, but also useful links to sites containing information on development subjects, on Bangladesh, and on USAID and business opportunities. Please direct questions or comments on this web site to idhaka@usaid.gov. Thank you for your interest. Denise Rollins | ||||||||||||||||||||||
