CDC National Immunization Program—Education and Training for Immunization Providers
CDC’s National Immunization Program provides consultation, training, statistical, promotional, educational, epidemiological, and technical services to assist health departments in planning, developing, and implementing immunization programs. Education and training options for immunization providers include live satellite broadcasts, course materials/slides, curricular materials, meetings/conferences, on-site training, self-study, and Internet conferences.

CDC—Public Health Training Network
CDC’s Public Health Training Network is composed of public, private, academic, and business organizations whose goal is to develop a public health workforce able to apply the current knowledge of disease prevention to reduce human suffering, improve community health, and contain health care costs. It is a distance-learning network that uses various instructional media to meet the training and information needs of the health workforce nationwide: 35-mm slide series, interactive multimedia, satellite broadcasts and Webcasts, print-based courses, resource books, video courses and videotapes, and the Web and Web on demand.

Institute for Healthcare Improvement Programs
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement is a not-for-profit organization that advances the quality and value of health care. Its programs include conferences, Web-based training (e.g., improvement in access to care, redesigning hospital care), and collaborative learning (e.g., improving access and efficiency in specialty practices).

National Association of School Nurses—Education
The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) is the only organization that represents school nurses and school nursing interests exclusively. NASN directs the development of educational programs and presents a premier annual conference for school nurses. The Continuing Education section of its Web site provides information on continuing nursing education, including online modules, and a calendar of educational events.

National Library of Medicine Training and Outreach
The National Library of Medicine (NLM) collects materials and provides information and research services in all areas of biomedicine and health care, and supports various educational and training opportunities for health professionals. The Training and Outreach section of NLM’s Web site provides education for career development in bioinformatics; training and outreach for NLM products and information services (including Web-based training); and public programs, seminars, and exhibits.
