Wanda,
NCSALL has a book, "Understanding What Reading is All About," that offers 13 lessons designed to help learners understand the components of reading that are part of becoming a more fluent reader. The lessons can be used as an independent mini-course or be integrated into an existing curriculum. Go to www.ncsall.net/fileadmin/resources/teach/uwriaa.pdf

Two issues of "Focus on Basics" offer guidance on adult reading. Volume 1, Issue B, http://www.ncsall.net/index.php?id=167 is on reading in general.
Volume 5, Issue A, http://www.ncsall.net/index.php?id=147
is on first level readers.

I'm sure other list members have favorite materials and places on the Internet to share as well.

Is there a resource for adult beginning reading material and lesson plans on-line?
