Description

The American Council of the Blind (ACB) is composed primarily of blind persons involved in 50 active State and 20 professional and special-interest organizations. ACB strives to strengthen vocational and rehabilitation programs for the blind, to ensure that blind people are treated favorably by Federal programs, such as the Supplemental Security Income program, and to support funding for eye research. ACB provides information and consultation on legal problems, education and training of visually handicapped individuals, and public education about blindness.
