Research Project: DIVERSITY IN WILD AND CULTIVATED DAUCUS

Objective:
To evaluate diversity in wild carrot, land races, and Daucus species in Poland where these populations all co-occur; to estimate genetic relationships and gene flow among them. Special attention to a transposon will be given.

Approach:
Collect wild Daucus seed and Polish land races of carrots; grow plants, collect DNA, and evaluate nuclear and mitochondrial markers including DcMaster transposon.
