Senior Companion agencies provide an array of assistive, supportive companionship services to frail seniors by utilizing volunteers, also age 60 or older, who have limited income.
These services are available to Community Care Program clients who have been determined to need companionship in conjunction with current In-Home Service or Adult Day Service. Clients pay no portion of the cost of companion care services. The companion service is provided by low-income older volunteers who are recruited, trained, managed and reimbursed by Senior Companion agencies.
