Acting U.S. Surgeon General and NIH Director Announce Expanded We Can! Efforts

In November 2007, We Can! held a media event at the Boston Children’s Museum, with simultaneous events held in eight other cities. Acting U.S. Surgeon General Rear Admiral Steven K. Galson was in attendance to discuss We Can!’s inclusion in the HHS Childhood Overweight and Obesity Prevention Initiative.

More than 250 Attend We Can! Trainings

Nearly 895 We Can! community sites are participating in the program. Sites represent a diversity of implementation settings, from schools and park and recreation departments to hospitals, health systems and public health departments.
