Performance Information

Parking

Parking is usually available in the five-story parking garage at 5th. and Copper NW, directly behind the theater.

Special street closures could complicate your arrival or departure plans. These temporary closures will be noted in our Performance Schedule page listings for any affected Events.

Passenger Drop-Off

We have no official drop-off area, but the sidewalk on 5th. Street at the west side of the building can usually be used. Please don't drop off passengers from the traffic lane directly in front of the theater.

Seating

Auditorium seating capacity is limited to a maximum of 650 persons, there is no 'standing room'.
Some events are General Admission and others are Reserved Seat.
Availability of specific seats for a Reserved Seat performance is subject to their prior sale. Please be prepared to make alternate seating choices.

There is no elevator at the KiMo Theater.  The balcony seating areas and upper lobby may not be accessible to some persons due to the several flights of stairs.

Children at Performances

Children attending performances are required to have their own admission tickets, even infants not occupying a seperate seat. (Alb. Fire Dept. regulations)
Ticket prices are set by the Presenter of the event, not the KiMo Theatre.

Please consider the interests of your child and bring them to age appropriate events.

Some young children or infants may disturb other audience members, or even the Performers, during a live show. Please use your best judgment. There are televisions in the Lobby with a live picture and sound of the stage.

Events with a separate children's ticket price are suitable for school age children and above. If you have questions about a particular event, please contact our Ticket Office at (505) 768-3544, or the Presenter of the event.

Events labeled "For Mature Audiences" or "Adult Content" are not suitable for children.

Accessibility

The KiMo Theatre is an accessible facility, but with some limitations.

The KiMo was built without an elevator. The balcony seating areas and upper lobby may not be accessible to some persons due to the several flights of stairs.

  • Please review our Accessibility page for more complete information.

If you require special assistance, please contact us at (505) 768-3522, TTY at 1-800-659-8331, or by email. Our offices are open Tuesday thru Saturday, closed on Mondays and City holidays.

Smoking

In compliance with Albuquerque City Ordinances, the KiMo Theatre has been designated a non-smoking facility. Smoking is prohibited.

This includes the sidewalk area outside the entry doors.

If you step outside during an intermission please retain your ticket stub for re-entry.

Food & Beverages

To help preserve the KiMo's decorative carpet and restored upholstery, food and beverages (including water, gum, and candy) are permitted in the lobby only.

The KiMo Theater has no contracted food or catering service at this time.

Pre-show or intermission refreshments may, or may not, be provided by the Presenter of the event.

Performance Time/Intermission

Seating usually begins 30 minutes before an event is scheduled to start. Actual starting time or late seating is at the discretion of the event's Presenter or the lobby manager.  Some programs may not have an intermission, others may have more than one. The lobby staff and ushers will have this information.  If you step outside during an intermission please retain your ticket stub for re-entry.

Personal Electronic Devices

For the consideration of all audience members, please silence all pagers and cell phones while in the theater. Live performances will be disturbed or may even be stopped by disruptive noises.

Recording & Photography

Recording of theatrical performances at the KiMo is prohibited by copyright laws. This includes: audio, video, film, digital and cell phone cameras.

Flash cameras are potentially dangerous to some performers, especially dancers.
Equipment may be confiscated or removed at the direction of the Presenter or artist(s).

Cameras are usually allowed at graduations and award ceremonies.

Cameras are welcomed during tours of the building.

Lost & Found

If you lost a personal item at the KiMo, please contact us as soon as possible so we can look for it for you.  (505) 768-3522
