Education & schools assistance

Programs

Preschool and Kindergarten programs

Preschool and Kindergarten teachers in King County can request a storybook on waste reduction or recycling to read aloud to their students

Elementary school programs

Schools can request an assembly program with classroom workshops or assistance with a Green Team project.

Hazardous waste school programs - grades 6-12

Attend a teacher training workshop on household hazardous waste and receive materials, project assistance and follow-up classroom presentations.

Secondary school programs

Schools can request classroom workshops or assistance with a Green Team project.

Earth Heroes at School

Get recognition for your school’s environmental accomplishments. Fill out a nomination form beginning in January of each year.

Assistance and Resources

Green Schools Program

Become a Green School by initiating or improving conservation practices, including waste reduction and recycling. Receive assistance and recognition from the King County Green Schools Program.

Educational resources

Find information on field trips and videos that can extend classroom learning.

Class Act newsletter

Find out what teachers and their students around the county are doing in and out of their classrooms to reduce waste and conserve resources.
